George’s Restaurant & Bar making more traditions with WESTROCK location

The rumors are true. George’s will be opening a second location in the Westrock Centre  at 1200 Hewitt Drive Suite 100, Waco,  Nov. 8, 2010.

“We are very excited about this new chapter in the George’s Tradition,” said owner Sammy Citrano. “You are only as good as your last meal…I’m confident that our customers will find the service and menu to be an extension of our original location.” Citrano bought the Waco landmark in 1993 and has turned it into an international attraction during the past 17 years. Citrano has watched the West Waco suburbs grow over the years, including Woodway, Hewitt, Robinson and McGregor. “It’s a great opportunity for his family and partners,” says Sammy.

In addition to providing an outstanding breakfast, the best Chicken Friend Steak in Waco (sampled & voted) and the one and only CRAZY WINGS, all offered in a non-smoking restaurant…George’s at Westrock will feature a full-service bar and The Big O Deck (air conditioned with smoking allowed), equipped with largest flat screen televisions than eyes can imagine.

The tradition started in 1930, when Harry Burmeister opened Harry B’s. In 1967 George Betros bought Harry B’s and changed the name, as we all know it as George’s Bar. He introduced the frozen goblet of your favorite brew…magically known now as The Big “O”. So as Pat Green says in is famous song, George’s Bar (1997),”I still go to George’s and drink my beer.”
