March Matchup at George’s: Where Local Favorites Go Head-to-Head
When March rolls around, you can’t help but think about basketball. Brackets get busted, underdogs show up big, and everybody suddenly becomes an expert. Around here at George’s, we figured we’d bring that same kind of fun off the court and onto the table.
So we kicked off our own March Matchup.
Round One came out swinging with 32 menu favorites going head-to-head. Crazy Wings vs. Crazy Tails. Cheese Fries vs. Potato Skins. Mozzarella Sticks vs. Garlic Cheese Curds. It was a full lineup of George’s staples, and folks didn’t hold back when it came time to vote. You could feel the energy building with every matchup.
By the Sweet 16, things tightened up. Crazy Wings kept pushing forward, while Lopez Nachos proved they’ve got staying power. The Crybaby Burger made a strong run, and Kyle’s Chicken Tenders showed just how many fans they’ve got around here.
Then came the Elite Eight, where only the best stuck around. Fried Catfish held its ground, Chicken Fried Steak kept doing what it’s famous for, and Crazy Wings kept stacking up wins like a team nobody could slow down.
The Final Four brought some tough calls. Chicken Fried Steak faced off with Kyle’s Chicken Tenders, while Crazy Wings went up against the Chick-Queso Potato. At that point, every vote counted.
And then it all came down to the championship. Chicken Fried Steak vs. Crazy Wings. Two George’s favorites with plenty of history behind them.
And in the end, the winner was clear.
Crazy Wings
Not surprising if you’ve spent any time around here. They’re one of the items George’s is known for, and they showed up strong all the way through.
If you followed along, you know how fun it got. If not, there’s always next year.
Until then… come see for yourself.
