George’s recently had the honor of feeding members of the 1974 Baylor University Southwest Conference Championship Football Team and fans at the Lunch with a Legend series event, held at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Members of the ’74 team were joined by John Morris, the Voice of the Bears, to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the “Miracle on the Brazos” team. Attendees enjoyed classic George’s fare, an informative discussion and a tour through the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, a museum honoring more than 400 Texas legends and home to 6,000 pieces of sports memorabilia.

As an added bonus, there was a very special alumnus in attendance: Chip Gaines, of Fixer Upper fame, and his father, Bob Gaines, who grabbed a quick picture with George’s owner Sammy Citrano.

George’s Restaurant is a long-standing supporter of the Baylor University and the games regularly occupy the big screens at George’s and George’s #2, both great spots to cheer on the Bears!
